Legadro Screen private test build · October 3, 2026

Legadro Screen replaces your Chrome new-tab page. The online workspace requires Google sign-in and an active three-day Trial or Premium entitlement. This notice describes the current release.

Online panel and updates

New tabs open legadro-screen.web.app, hosted by Firebase Hosting. Your browser contacts this service to load the panel and check for application updates. Public application files are cached for offline use after the first visit. The website and the previous extension workspace have separate local storage; sign in to recover synced content, or export and import a backup of local-only content. Closing or uninstalling the extension does not erase the website's browser storage.

What is stored

Collections, shortcut URLs and titles, folders, notes, preferences, wallpaper selections, and uploaded images/videos are stored in this browser. When you connect Google, account identity is handled by Firebase Authentication, workspace records are stored in Cloud Firestore, and uploaded media is stored in your Google Drive application-data folder. Local and signed-in workspaces are separate. You can explicitly merge local data into your account.

Google Drive access

The requested Drive permission is drive.appdata. It allows access to this application's hidden data folder, not your ordinary Drive documents, photos, or shared folders. Drive storage quota applies. Google and Firebase process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Other connections

City searches and weather requests go to Open-Meteo. Weather requests include the selected city's coordinates and your network IP address; the extension does not request device location. A submitted web search uses Chrome’s Search API and the default search engine selected in your Chrome settings. Legadro does not change this setting. Bookmark suggestions are matched locally. Optional live suggestions are off by default and require explicit consent in the search panel or Customize → Search. When enabled, typed query text is sent over HTTPS directly to Google’s suggestion service, which also receives your IP address. Requests omit cookies and account credentials. Legadro does not save these queries or send them to Firebase, Drive or its own servers. Google processes requests under its own privacy policy. Selecting a suggestion still uses the default Chrome search engine. Disable live suggestions in Customize → Search at any time; the choice is stored only in this browser. The search permission enables browser-managed web searches. Shortcut navigation opens the chosen website. When website icons are enabled, Legadro requests high-resolution favicons through its server using Google's favicon service. Only the website hostname is sent, without page paths, query strings or your account details. Chrome's favicon service is used as a fallback.

Browser permissions

Identity supports Google sign-in. Storage stores extension preferences. Favicon provides shortcut icons. Bookmark access is included at installation so saving with Chrome’s star works immediately after signing in. You can turn off Capture Chrome stars in the extension popup. The Legadro-Screen bookmark folder connects Chrome’s star menu to your selected Legadro collection. Websites created or moved into that folder are imported, including later title changes and removal. Bookmarks outside this folder are not imported automatically. Active-tab access reads the current page title and URL only when you open the extension popup to save it. The extension provides links to Chrome history and downloads pages; it does not request permission to read your history or downloads. Legadro Screen does not collect passwords, full card numbers or card security codes.

Premium purchases

Checkout is provided by Lemon Squeezy. Card and billing details are entered directly into its protected checkout, including when shown over our website. Legadro stores the Google account email designated for Premium, order identifiers and payment status in its Cloudflare payment service and records membership in Firebase. Signed payment notifications activate Premium and reflect refunds. If you purchase before signing in, your purchase remains associated with the specified email until you sign in with that verified Google account. Contact owner@legadro-screen.com for purchase or account help.

No advertising or analytics

This build includes no advertising, analytics SDK, tracking pixels, or sale of personal information. Your saved content is used to provide the start page and synchronization.

Your controls

Export a complete backup from Customize → Data. Removed items remain in Recently removed so they can be restored; this is not permanent erasure. Sign out to disconnect this page from your cloud workspace. Uninstalling removes the extension from Chrome but does not erase its Firebase or Drive data. The test build does not yet provide complete cloud-account erasure or automatic media reclamation. These controls must be completed before public release.

Embedded ChatGPT

Opening the ChatGPT lightbox loads chatgpt.com directly. ChatGPT handles its own account, chats, cookies and availability; Legadro does not read your conversations or proxy them. A small script in the ChatGPT frame recognizes sign-in buttons and hands those clicks to a separate browser sign-in window; it does not read form inputs, messages, passwords, cookies or tokens. The extension uses declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess and access to chatgpt.com and the Legadro panel to adjust framing headers only for ChatGPT frames inside the requesting Legadro tab. These temporary rules are removed when the panel closes, the tab navigates or closes, or the workspace locks. Ordinary ChatGPT tabs and other websites retain their original headers. An extension update to 0.3.4 is required for automatic sign-in handoff. Sign-in happens directly on ChatGPT and its identity provider in a separate browser window; their security headers are not modified. After returning to ChatGPT, that sign-in window closes and the embedded page reloads. Google Apps and messenger links navigate directly to the chosen service.

The embedded chat uses a small extension-origin frame so Chrome can apply its host-permission session behavior. Legadro does not read, copy or modify ChatGPT authentication cookies. That frame is exposed only to the Legadro panel and verifies an active panel session before loading ChatGPT.
